Fortnitemares 2024 has just been announced for Fortnite to celebrate the Halloween season. The recent trailer has revealed lots about what this event entails as well as other important news released by Epic Games, so what is there to know about?
The Release Date

Right now, Fortnite is in chapter 5 of season 4 which is all about Marvel. Many players are looking forward to the next season, but the Fortnite Halloween events are sure to keep them occupied with plenty of fun to be had and Fortnite skins to collect beforehand.
The release date for Fortnitemares 2024 will be on October 11th. Despite this though, players have reported already seeing some of the upcoming Fortnite skins available to view in the in-game store. Besides the Fortnite skin hint, not much else is known about the event in-game and players will just have to wait for the expected date to enjoy the festivities.
What Are the Skins?
As of right now, there are a couple of skins you can get in the Fortnite shop before the Fortnitemares update has been released! This includes the Billy Puppet bundle, the Shadow Monks skin, and some Halloween-themed emotes. While you can get these Fortnite skins early, they will still be available after Fortnitemares starts.
Besides the skins that are already in the game, three other Fortnite skins have been confirmed to be arriving for Fortnitemares 2024. This includes the Leatherface skin from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a Witch skin, and Mephisto from the Marvel comics. There are also likely to be other tool and Fortnite weapon skins that are themed to Leatherface and more!
Gameplay News
As of right now, there really isn’t much announced about potential gameplay features exclusive to Fortnitemares 2024. However, the new Fortnite skins and their weapons have hinted at possible new and unique weapons to be added for the update. This is especially true when looking at last year’s Fortnitemares and the number of new Fortnite weapons that were added then, so it’s a high possibility now.
When it comes to gameplay modes, there is nothing announced for this year right now. Considering how popular Horde Rush in past Halloween events were though, there could be a chance of it reappearing. Horde Rush was immensely popular due to its challenging waves of Monster Hordes to fight through and even boss battles! It even came with its own quest line to keep all players engaged and coming back for more.
While it is not a guarantee that Horde Rush to come back just yet, there could also be a new quest line added to this year’s Fortnitemares instead. Either way, it has been at least confirmed that quests will be in the event as a way for players to earn new Fortnite weapons and skins through gameplay, so we’ll just have to stay tuned as to how it will be pulled off.
